Coinbase acquired bitcoins for Tesla in early February
US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase helped Tesla invest $ 1.5 billion in bitcoin.
According to sources from The Block, Coinbase completed a Bitcoins for Tesla during the first week of February.
It is known that the Coinbase Prime division of the exchange, which provides prime broker and OTC trading services, also acquired Bitcoins for MicroStrategy.
“We hope these kinds of deals will be a watershed moment for the crypto economy and look forward to helping more companies diversify their cryptocurrency capital allocation strategies,” – said Brett Tejpole, head of institutional sales at Coinbase last December.
The source said there are five Fortune 500 companies among Coinbase Prime customers.
Coinbase listing on Nasdaq Exchange
Coinbase itself plans to conduct a direct listing of shares on the Nasdaq exchange this year. It should take place in late February-early March, with 0.5% of the company’s shares in free float. At the same time, the placement will not take place in the form of a traditional IPO, but through the direct listing (DLP), within which the company does not attract underwriters, does not conduct a road-show for investors, and does not establish a period in which it is impossible to sell shares.
