Latinos’ Interest in Cryptocurrency Payments Rises
Residents of South America see cryptocurrencies not only as a tool to protect against inflation and preserve savings. Latinos want to be able to spend their digital coins in everyday life.
Survey results from Visa
Visa is actively interested in changing the views of bank cardholders due to the coronavirus pandemic. The survey showed:
- that 25% of all credit cardholders in South America would like their banks to add the ability to pay in cryptocurrency.
- one in four Latin Americans expressed a desire to experiment with digital assets and try them out in everyday life.
- 78% of users of the system want to use new payment technologies in the future, including operations with cryptocurrency.
The main trend among Visa cardholders is the ability to settle in social networks. About 58% of users of the payment system expressed a desire to make payments via WeChat Pay or WhatsApp Pay. Another 42% of respondents expect the introduction of biometric payments, for confirmation of which a fingerprint, recognition of the retina of the eye or face is required. Cryptocurrencies ranked third in interest among Visa customers, ahead of industries such as the Internet of Things (22%) and augmented reality (10%).
Earlier, Visa introduced a system for buying cryptocurrencies that will be integrated by banks. It will help clients of financial institutions interact with digital currencies.
We remind you that the BitXmi crypto exchange is introducing support for the Visa payment system to quickly replenish the trade balance. Follow our news to find out first.
